Do NOT use this dentist. They seem to have some sort of shading thing going on with billing. We joined them because they were covered by our dental plan and now they are billing our insurance as if they are NOT within network. I'd be very wary of them!!!

BEWARE ALOT OF MISINFORMATION AND OVERCHARGING ALWAYS OPTING FOR THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE CHARGE OVER PATIENT CARE!! I've had more than one problem but my latest problem I had a root canal that was necessary I was told halfway through the root canal that they would not be able to do the whole thing that day. Glad to have read all the reviews before I pulled out my wallet. I was scheduled to have work done today. One root canal 2 crown lengthening then 3 crown replacement. Cost 5600$ plus insurance pays 1250$ for root canal total 6850$ I showed up for the procedure but asked for detailed billing. I was told they will explain after the treatment. They don't even deserve 1 star. Steinway Family Dental is the absolute WORST dental office. First off, they are extremely money hungry and will preform procedures on you that you didn't even need in the first place. They tried to convince my mother that she needed a highly extensive and expensive procedure done on her that she didn't even need. I went for the first time six months ago because they were offering a new patient special. I thought the services were okay, but I was told certain things about my teeth I have never been told before. I decided to come back six months later despite being very annoyed with how aggressive they were in trying to schedule my appointment. Non stop phone calls until I finally scheduled one. Please do not use their services. They would either talk you into getting something you most definitely don't need or charge you for services that were never provided to you! It happened to me twice - the review of them charging 3k for "the best ever" crown for your root canal is true, it happened to me as well ( I called my insurance and found out that the docs looked for a crown that the insurance did not cover so they could charge me for it, but the insurance could pay for any other good crown). For the good part, they have patient staff taking care of their Facebook inquiries. They are very fast in replying. BUT the moment I was there, I felt something odd. Almost as if they are over charging me and upselling a procedure I didn't need. I knew for sure I needed a filling and I was told I might need a root canal which would cost me around $3,000 when the dentist hasn't even looked at my tooth yet????? First, I'll say that the dental hygienists, assistants, and nurses were (mostly) very nice. But nope. Nope. Nope. I echo what some others have said here: Steinway Family Dental Center overcharged me by thousands of dollars for procedures I may or may not have even needed in the first place. As an earlier reviewer stated : " THEY ARE TERRIBLE! money hungry!!! they will make you do services that you do not need. " This basically sums up this practice. They are excellent salespeople, okay dentists/hygienists. Again, as someone pointed out earlier they'll call and text ( NOT one or the other ) you non stop when the time comes for your insurance to okay your next checkup. They constantly up sell a patient.
