Unless you have money to burn, don't bother coming here! I was referred to Steinway Family Dental by a friend who goes to them for cleanings, etc. My rear molar has been cracked in half, was giving me a lot of pain, and from the looks of it was rotten. I have no insurance, so they told me the consultation would be $60 and I came in to have it looked at and see what my options were. The dental assistant came in and took an x-ray of my tooth and I waited for the doctor. Finally he came in, and I fully expected a regular dent... read more
In short, I'll never come back nor recommend this place to anyone. Don't go here. Save your time and money. Also, their DemandForce.com reviews lack a certain level of detail you'd expect from actual dental patients. Thanks, Carrie. My story: I had some tooth pain I was looking to get addressed. After taking X-rays, they called and had me come in for a preliminary consultation. The wait times are horrible, so there's that to consider. Finally brought in and sitting in the chair, I'm told by a doctor I've never met that I... read more
The staff is very pushy and money hungry. After the first time I declined a procedure, they sent another man to speak to me and try to convince me. After i repeatedly declined again and again, they still made me an appointment (for the procedure I declined). I never went back. Also, the hygienist who cleaned my teeth was unprofessional, probably straight out of school. She was scared to touch my teeth. I personally brush my teeth harder than that. Water was dripping down my face, my clothes and my back. At the end of the cle... read more
this is the worst dental office i've ever experienced, they even charge if you want your xray information to go to a better office! and they make you pay in advance, so i thought for sure something was up. the actual dentist didn't barely looked in my mouth when he came in, he just looked at the xrays and said i was good. there was no talk about the state of my teeth, like previous fillings and such. we only talked about filling a chipped tooth, which i've had for a decade, and 2 other dentists said it was merely superfic... read more
I have been going to this dentist for some time (since in the old office) as well as recommending to other friends and family. At first I was happy to find a participating provider that I was comfortable with, all of a sudden they move to a new office and all they want to do is charge you for things that are covered by your insurance and tell you things need to be done that are NOT covered. My last visit for my 6 month cleaning and check up, I sat in the chair (for a long time) after getting my X-rays, FINALLY the dentist ... read more
I had a cleaning a few cavities filled. I had a pleasant experience; staff were friendly and everything seemed pretty normal. After reading the reviews, though, I will be having some more complicated procedures done at another office. So why the two stars then? Because their outreach to clients borders on harassment, probably for the same reason other reviewers were told they needed unnecessary/excessive treatments. It's become clear that they don't see teeth when patients open their mouths, but dollar signs. Without consul... read more
I went for a Root Canal a couple of years ago and I did not enjoy the experience.Dr Malakov was almost sadistic when after I expressed that I had pain while he was drilling my tooth he continued to drill for like a second more before he stopped. Prescribed me an old antibiotic from the 80's to take and also broke my wife's tooth when he was doing a procedure on her.The place is more like a sales convention than a dentist office.......
Went to another dentist (who cost a quarter less...). Turns out I had 4 cavities, not 8 like Steinway Family said. Imagine... I was going to pay 1600 for cavities I didn't even have! I told my new dentist that I supposedly have 8 and he told me that he sees some leftover glue stuck to my teeth from the braces I had in years back. He showed my teeth with mirrors and x-rays, so that ensured me. So either the dentist I saw at Steinway didn't make the right assessment or he was lying to me... ALSO... this is pretty funn... read more
I really don't revel in writing a bad review. No one likes to go to the dentist right? But this place has a serious lack of diplomacy and beside manner. There is a lack of communication on every level so ask a lot of questions or you will have some seriously unpleasant surprises. I spent a lot of money on a cap that doesn't match the color of the rest of my teeth. I just don't know what they expect people to think when they leave that place. Cranky dentists, nebulous prices, lots of up-selling as if you were being sold a car... read more
